I first visited Tokyo nearly 10 years ago and was swept away by its futuristic society steeped in ancient culture. The beautiful mix of new and old still entrance me today. We hoped to capture that beauty and filmed for 2 weeks in Tokyo and its surrounding areas. As we visited during the New Year, we were lucky to attend the "dezuiri" sumo ring-entering ceremony, which you'll see in the opening shot. We also captured "yumi hajime" (first archery practice of the year) as well as "hatsumode" (first shrine visit of the year) at Asakusa.

Other shots include Shinjuku, Shibuya, Roppongi Hills, Meiji Shrine, Rainbow Bridge at Odaiba, Tokyo Tower, Tsukiji fish market, Yokohama, Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi, and Nikko world-heritage shrines.

On the technical side, we shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and Sony A65. The 5D was mounted on a Glidecam HD-2000 with the Nikon 24mm f/1.4G lens for the flying shots. The Sony A65 was shot with the Zeiss 24mm f/2 and Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 lenses. Edited in Adobe Premiere.

A city that glows long after the light has faded. It seems people are always moving in and out of New York in pursuit of dreams. The city comes alive at night, as if unsatisfied to simply sleep. Many of us will leave one day, perhaps when we finally awaken, but those blurry lights continue to inspire long after.

I filmed this over one week in the winter. Scenes include Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Times Square, Grand Central, Wall Street, Met Museum, American Museum of Natural History, and the 9/11 Memorial.

On the technical side, this was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II mounted on a Glidecam HD-2000 with the Nikkor 24mm f/1.4G, as well as the Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens.

We've been to Kyoto many times before and always wanted to capture the beauty of its zen atmosphere. We made this film over 4 days in Kyoto and its surrounding areas in Nara, Osaka, and Mount Koya. Although we were there during the cold winter, the snow was beautiful on Mount Koya. We made sure to include some of our favorite spots in the video like the bamboo forest in Arashiyama, the torii gates at Fushimi Inari, the Golden Pavilion, geisha in the Gion district, Higashiyama and Kiyomizu temple, and the unique deer park of Nara.

On the technical side, we shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and Sony A65. The 5D was mounted on a Glidecam HD-2000 with the Nikon 24mm f/1.4G lens for the flying shots. The Sony A65 was shot with the Zeiss 24mm f/2 and Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 lenses. Edited in Adobe Premiere.

This is a montage of footage a few friends and I shot for a Documentary during the summer/fall of 2009.

The documentary was shot entirely on the canon 5D MKll in and around Cairo and Beirut. Big ups to Magic Lanterns Firmware update, as well as the Kessler Pocket Dolly for being a huge help in making this happen.

In commemoration of the 40th UAE National Day - Spirit of the Union.

A time-lapse journey through United Arab Emirates.

A project that started in January 2011 and completed shooting on May 2011. My goal was simply to explore and look for interesting unique sceneries around the UAE, and capture it's beauty with time-lapse photography. Winter season plays a big part of my journey, as it's the best time to chase visible fluffy clouds with a true blue sky that only exist to the human eye at this time of the year.

I took around 300,000 images and traveled some 4000kms going around the cities of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. I ended up going more than once on few locations which mostly I searched the coordinates online. There's some tiny little setbacks like wrong coordinates, clouds disappearance, being turned down to take photos (after a 2 hour drive), miscalculated driving time, sets of glowing eyes in the mountain, some wild animal noise in the dark (well it's not really a hindrance, but it is abit alarming) and few unnecessary technical issues, which is typically part of trying out and learning something new :)

The whole trip was very exhausting and time consuming, but it's all worth it in the end. I've seen so many beautiful places here in the UAE, plus I enjoyed all the long drives as well as being close to nature and far away from city for awhile. I'm hoping to find more time and discover new places and capture it again on video :)

In september of 2011 I spent 2 weeks travelling around Morocco covering over 3200km (2000 miles). It was my first visit to this beautiful country, but it will definetly not be the last.

Our hearts go out to the families of Markus Praxmarer who lost his life while climbing Half Dome on September 19th, 2011 and Ranger Ryan Hiller, who was crushed by a tree January 22nd 2012. They will be missed. (A photo of Ranger Ryan Hiller can be found to the right, above the statistics counter)
